Default Interesting 3/6 hand

MP1 is a 13/11/2.00
SB is 28/2/.84

The tables are playing a bit tight and I'm trying to take advantage of the over aggressive nature of most of the players. Enough stealing is going on that certain players are very non believing.

The nice thing is that the table is fairly easy to read in position, out of position you kind of take your life into your own hands.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (7 handed)

Preflop: slavic is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, MP1 raises, MP2 calls, 2 folds, SB calls, slavic calls.

Flop: (8 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, slavic bets, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, SB calls.

Turn: (6 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, slavic bets, MP1 raises, MP2 folds, SB calls, slavic 3-bets, MP1 calls, SB calls.

River: (15 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, slavic bets, MP1 calls, SB raises, slavic folds, MP1 calls.

Final Pot: 20 BB

Nice fold. Did you consider check/raising the flop? What if MP1 capped the turn?

I think the turn is the only close spot, but a player with those stats has AK more often than KQ or QQ, so I think the 3-bet is good. The river is a nice fold.

I'll admit that I would call the river checkraise sometimes -- hoping for exactly 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], I guess.

So, those times that I did call, I suppose I'd be rewarding SB's loose flop call with his probable JT. (But maybe he was suited and had two backdoor draws.)

I thought about that, but top and bottom isn't that strong, so I don't mind if the PFR raises and protects our hand.

I think a flop Check-Raise could work. It would protect your hand better than betting. MP1 is an aggressive player and I think there is a good chance he will bet if checked to. Did you have any continuation stats on him?

I am also making a crying call on the river. For tow bets, I am giving it up. For one, I am not. I do not think there is any danger of MP1 trapping since he would have raised after your bet on the river.

I'd probably call the river, however, I'm not saying this is the smart thing to do.

I'm not saying you guys are wrong, but for those that want to call the river, what hand range do you put the SB on? I don't think we're ahead of much.

No, we are not ahead of much. In fact, we are probably beaten. But in order to fold a hand where you have 18 to 1 odds you have to be over 90% sure you are beaten. Can you ever be that sure in small stakes hold em?
