Re: Is there a beginners guide to using PokerTracker?
the e-book is excellent.
it is a 60page introduction to PT. if you are a new user i highly recommend it, especially if you play limit (as excession's articles are for nl). it is a reasonably complex program and you want to get the most use out of it, right from the start. the guide generally covers how to start to analyze your own play and how to start to analyze the play of others (through autorate rules etc). the poker tracker forum is also a good place to look if you have specific questions or problems. cheers, the Real Macoy |

I've been reading a great deal on bet-the-pot and PT forums to pick up things here and there. I have my database setup with auto rate rules running, but the toughest part is knowing what it means when someone is rated so and so....excession's article onbet-the-pot explains a little bit about this. For instance, i am rated an SLA (slightly loose agressive), i think that's what it stands for. What does this mean? I know that it means i am V$IP b/t 30-40%. But where does that put me in relation to other players? I am leaning more towards fish? calling station? does this mean i stink at poker? or leaning towards a rock? |
