Default Stud books with play examples

Hello - I'm new to this game, and I'm trying to get a better feel for what I should be thinking about during the course of a hand. 7CSFAP assumes more experience than I have right now. Is there something analogous to Ciaffone's "Middle Limit Holdem Poker", that goes through numerous hand examples?

Default Re: Stud books with play examples

well, i'm fairly new to stud myself. that said, don't get ashley adam's book because it's very basic, though reading it once in your local bookstore might be helpful. i hear the other beginner/intermediate stud books are pretty weak as well.

even with my limited nl hold 'em/stud background i found 7CSFAP extremely helpful (it certainly helped that i had read the Theory of Poker because many concepts are explained more completely there). in fact, i've noticed HUGE improvements after my second reading of 7SFAP. i suspect if you're willing to put in a bit of time, you'll get the same results.
