set, coordinated flop
Paradise Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is MP3 with 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $0.50. UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 3 folds, Hero calls, CO (poster) checks, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks. Flop: (6 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 players) SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 bets, Hero... on a loose/passive table, with UTG+1 being a decent TAG, do you guys call here on this very coordinated board, or do you protect your hand here? if you guys do call, what is your plan if you are UI with a turn/river "scary card", and a bet from UTG+1? |

Re: set, coordinated flop
I'm raising. You actually can give flush draws incorrect odds to call here, not to mention gutshots. UTG could have a hand like A7, K7, 99, etc... A raise would primarily be for value, but also for protection.

Re: set, coordinated flop
I'd raise, mainly for value but partly because I'm not sure I can expect to be bet into on the turn a good percentage of the time.

[ QUOTE ]
You actually can give flush draws incorrect odds to call here [/ QUOTE ] If you raise they're getting 4.5:1 and even getting less than that it's an easy call with implied odds (especially since on this board you likely either have a pair + flush draw, a king/ace high flush draw, or a gutshot/OESD and a flush draw). |

Re: set, coordinated flop
You've most likely got the best hand at the moment, isn't this a perfect time to knock out players with a reraise and charge utg+1 for his draw or pair? Protecting the hand here is more important than building a pot I think. Hands like A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] might fold if it's two back to them, I'd go for the raise.
