Default Re: AA facing a check raise on the flop

well I would fold to the flop checkraise.

it just doesn't make sense for it to be coming from top pair especially since its a Q high board and very likely for me to have top pair already.

if it was a T high flop or lower, I would have called the checkraise then decided on turn.

also, if it was raise behind me instead of a checkraise, I might have 3 bet the flop.

Default Re: AA facing a check raise on the flop

Thanks for all of the advice. I have to say I played this hand pretty badly. My own personal take on the hand was that if he had hit a set, he would have just smooth-called my flop bet. He obviously wanted me out of the pot with all of his aggression.

I figured I was against a pair of Kings or two pair, but I had a hard time putting him on QT or T7. Worst case scenario is that I have two outs, if he has two pair I have twelve (2 As, 4 Ks, 3 Js and 3 7s) and if he has KK I am sitting pretty.

Here is the rest of the hand:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (8 handed) converter

saw flop|<font color="#C00000">saw showdown</font>

Button ($98)
SB ($114.5)
BB ($123.5)
<font color="#C00000">UTG ($136.75)</font>
<font color="#C00000">Hero ($97.65)</font>
MP1 ($136.15)
MP2 ($37)
CO ($173.25)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.5.
UTG calls $1, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $4</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, Button calls $4, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, UTG calls $3.

Flop: ($13.50) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
UTG checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $10</font>, Button folds, <font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to $25</font>, Hero calls $15.

Turn: ($63.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">UTG bets $70</font>, Hero calls $68.65 (All-In).

River: ($202.15) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players, 1 all-in)</font>

Final Pot: $202.15

UTG has Qd Tc (two pair, queens and tens).
Hero has Ah Ac (straight, ace high).
Outcome: Hero wins $200.80. UTG wins $1.34. </font>

It was a happy ending, but I really feel like I botched this one. Thanks again to everyone for their advice. I am not sure I would have made this call against someone that was a more TAG.

I'm folding.

Maybe it's weak, but every time I call I see two pair or better.
