Default ok turn call?

1st hand of the night. I'm in bb with ATo, folded to the co, a slightly above average player I've seen before. He raises, folded to me, I 3 bet, he calls. Flop comes Q98 rainbow, I bet out and he calls. Turn is an offsuit K, I check, he bets, I call. The river brings a J, I bet, he calls, and of course my hand is good. Afterwards he complained that I shouldn't call the turn with a gutshot but I countered that I had 3 more outs counting my Ace.

On my turn call, I'm getting 5-1 pot odds and with 7 outs I need 5.6 to 1 odds to call. I figured that if I hit an out I'd collect another bet on the end so I called. Thinking back on it now, I guess it all depends on whether my Ace out is good enough to win. Comments?

Adding together the possibilities of 1. The ace may not be good if you hit it. 2.You may split the pot if you make the straight.& 3. He may not call if you make the straight, the fold is probably better than the call. But, I believe the bet is better than either one.
