Default 10/20 AJ blind defense

The villain in this hand is 28/22/1.5 his attempt to steal blinds is around 47 after 170 hands.

The 3 players (one just left) to my right are tags with high attempt to steal blinds numbers ( I am at the table for the 2 players on my left). I think my Image is solid but on the weak tight side since I haven’t been picking up much to defend with.

Party Poker 10.00/20.00 Hold'em <font color="#0000FF">(5 handed)</font> link

Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, Button calls.

Flop: (6.50 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, Button calls.

Turn: (4.25 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises</font>, Hero calls.

I plan on check folding to a river bet unimproved.

I think I would let this one go here. His aggression is not all that high making a Q quite likely. I would want to be more certain the J is good since your only getting 7.25:1

I'd let this one go as well.

wow, being OOP with no hand sucks, huh.

PF and Flop are good. Turn, I like the bet but not the call. You're going to have to win this pot with AJ U/I sometimes in order to make this call since you're getting 7:1 on the call and you have at most 6 outs. You don't really have any hidden outs except against 22.

Thanks for the response. I called the turn raise planning on winning unimproved enough to make it profitable.

I have been experimenting with calling turn raises with marginal hands and folding to river bets as I feel the free showdown raise is one of the most overused and misapplied plays at these tables.

So I put weaker aces into his range here and made the call. Plus Guys that steal with 47% of there hands take shots at you with air every now and then.

That being said I don’t hate my play but I agree a fold is probably best.

I love your read here that the "Raise for free showdown" fad makes calling down more correct than usual. Althoug I'm not sure this is the place

Just fold the turn, and then find a new table.
