Default How to learn to play Heads-up. Someone point me in the right direction

Sad cry for help. I just lost $80 playing .25/.50 heads-up on UB.

Can someone please give me some advice or articles to read so that I don't donate when I play heads up.

thank you.

You know I recently read section in HPFAP about headsup play so I tried to avoid that situation.

After playing for another 30 minutes I've managed to hold my own. I think I was putting in WAY too much money from out of position.

Stop playing HU for real money unless you know what you're doing and hop in the next HULA.

I just realized how much I suck at heads-up play... good idea to try the HULA.

Until then, you can come give my some advice by schooling me heads up on UB.

I managed to win $20 in my next session.
This is what I have learned so far.

1) Play many more hand when you have the button than when you are out of position.
2) Value bet, value bet, value bet.
3) Don't make hopeless bet's on the river with A hight when your opponent will call with any pair.

These are all holdem basics, i don't think they're HU specific.

If you are proficient post flop, and are able to let hands go.. i find that the best strategy is to raise 3-4x (depending on limit size)every time when u are first to act. You'll pick up a lot more small pots, as well as get paid off more when you actually hit something. The best strategy is constant pressure, and of course keep your bets the same size every time so he can't get a read on you, that way he is just as likely to make a play on your aces as he would when you have 3,7 off.
