Preflop KK against Big Re-Raise. Commerce 3/5
Commerce 3/5 (200 NL).
I have KK in MP. Two limpers. I make it $50 to go. Folds around to the first limper who raises to $200. Limper folds. Both of our stacks are around $700. He has one of the following: AA, KK, or QQ. I don't think he has QQ. Notes on Villain: Limps about 50% of hands. Calls flop bets and turn bets with MPGK and TPWK. Shies away from flop aggression and checks turns and rivers even when he has position. What's my line? I'll tell you what I did and my reasoning in a bit. And then I'll tell you what we had. And there will be much rejoicing or "that sucks man." |

After reading fim's AA thread about letting KK-QQ get away on the cheap, I couldn't agree more. But that doesn't mean that's what I did. I'll post results in a few (not that it matters since I'm convinced that this is a fold).

Re: Preflop KK against Big Re-Raise. Commerce 3/5
So I'm thinking, "If he has AA, that sucks. If he has KK that sucks, but in a totally different way. And if he has QQ, that's awesome. I don't think he has QQ. If he has KK and I re-raise all-in, he may fold KK and I win $200. Of course, if he has AA, he calls me."
Yup, that's my awful logic. So I push. And he says, "Well, I think I'm screwed but I have to call." And he calls. And he has KK. And we chop. At least I know that the next time he has Kings and I have Aces, I can push preflop against him and not worry about him folding. But yeah, if any of you are ever in this situation and do what I did, you're an idiot. Lesson learned (thankfully, not the hard way). |
