Default Rudimentary?

Comments appreciated - I have my thoughts but don't want to muddy the waters just yet. Even if it seems obvious, I'd like to hear what people are doing in these spots.

Hand 1: Villain is a loose player preflop, known to bet OESD draws on the flop.

10 handed Party 2/4, hero has AA on the button:

UTG shortstack raises to $2.50, villain calls, 2 folds, MP3 calls, CO calls, Hero raises, 2 folds, villain calls, MP3 calls, CO calls

($15.50 main pot, $6 side pot)
Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
villain bets, MP3 folds, CO folds, Hero raises, villain calls

($15.50, $14)
Turn: 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
villain bets, hero...

------------------------------------------------------

Hand 2: Same villain

8 handed party 2/4, hero has JJ UTG:

Hero raises, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, villain(CO) calls, 3 folds

(7.5 sb)
Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Hero bets, UTG+1 folds, villain calls

(9.5 sb)
Turn: 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Hero bets, villain raises, hero...

(sorry for the less than perfect transcription, converter isn't working, correct?)

Hand 1, I rasie once then call down. I'm much more worried about spades than 4s.

Hand 2, I need to know more about the opponent.

Hand 1, call it down from here. He might have spades, he also might have As and 8 of something and like his two pair nut flush draw.

Hand 2, call it down again. He might have made trips or something on the flop, but I wouldn't let an odd raise from a player who has been aggressive with draws push me off a decent hand.

The opponent saw a lot of flops, even in raised pots, maybe a 42% vpip.

I've only been sitting for 3-4 orbits; I have seen villain win after waking up on the turn like this.

I'm trying to guage if these are foldable. In both hands I felt beat based on my read of the player, but hesitated to make the laydown (lose 2 bb or lose the whole pot). Hand 1 has a bigger pot, so maybe that's more borderline.

I'm trying to tighten up postflop, but don't want to be results oriented in my thinking. I felt that both of these were folds.

I am aware of the dangers of laying down too many hands, but I need to be making more read dependent folds on later streets. I am trying to find the line.

I've been getting away with calling down donkeys in these situations for a long time (and making $ doing it), now I'm trying to think more about it and pick some spots to fold.

How long did you get away with this? At .5/1 it was great, but calling down in the 1/2 is killing me. Maybe my table selection sucks.

- Wishing he was playing 6max, but fighting to learn discipline.

I think we're running into the same problem.

I would call down in #1. It looks like fishy villian is taking a fishy shot at the board pairing. In #2, it is very close because the pot is big and you could have outs against his fishy 2 pair, but raising is much different than betting, so I think I'd fold with the K up there.
