Preflop limp could be considered marginal, not terrible from the button after 3 IMO. That's not really what I'm posting this for. I think the flop raise may be interesting to some. (and maybe boring to others)

I disagree, I think this is an easy fold.

I'm also not raising this flop. The bet from EP usually is a better hand than 2nd pair no kicker, the flop is coordinated so many of our two pair outs are suspect, and I don't think our hand needs much protection.

What's more interesting is how you handle the turn. take the free card if a paint comes, or bet the scare card?

I would fold this pf and I don't like that turn raise. I just don't like this hand in this board very much.

Looks like a good raise to get a free card. I think your outs need to be heavily discounted (especially the idiot end of that gutshot), but you've still got enough to continue so raising looks like the right play in this position.

Preflop I'd fold, but I agree it's close -- T8s is about my cutoff there.

I would definitely fold preflop.

On the flop your hand has little value except for the gutshot and the backdoor straight-draw. I don't like putting in 2 bets to win 7.5. Just call this flop bet and see what hits on the turn.

This is an automatic pf fold for me.

5.5 Clean outs:
1.5 to the backdoor flush
2 black tens are both clean
2 black 7s are clean

These (5) outs need to be discounted:
3 9s to the idiot end
9h
7h

So if I discount those by 1/2 I'm looking at 8 outs total, about 32% equity.
Add the free card factor with my position and I like the raise. I've basically got 2 guaranteed callers (UTG+1 and MP3), almost enough, and if I get one more it's a solid value raise.

*unless* discounting the dirty outs by 1/2 isn't enough...

I've been value raising a lot of gutshot draws with bottom or middle pair. I like it.

I disagree. They are not clean. The board becomes 78TJ.
