Default Cingular EDGE network for laptop?

I am considering buying a PC card modem through Cingular for use on the edge network. Has any one used this service for multitabling Party Poker? If so is the speed reasonable for the sole purpose of playing poker?

Default Re: Cingular EDGE network for laptop?

I've heard it considerabley slower than Verizon's EVDO service.

The needs of 4-tabling aren't too extreme. Either would definitely work.

I've heard some complaints of relatively high latency for the sustained transfer speed, much like satellite internet.
