Default QQ and I call

5/10 at Stars, UTG has been laggy in the 2 orbits I've been at the table. I want to know if I missed any bets here. My reasoning was that I didn't want to get 3-bet if I raised, but wanted to see showdown with my second best pair. If he checked to me I would have bet.

Hero has QQ on the button.

UTG calls, all fold to me, I raise, SB folds, BB folds.

Flop: KT4r

Villain bets, I call.

Turn: 8 completing the rainbow

Villain bets, I call.

River: 3

Villain bets, I call.

How'd I do?

How about raising the river? I think you get 3-bet less often on the river, even from a K, and you don't scare him off a bluff early in the hand.

well played. UTG is laggy, so he is more likely than normal to fire that last barrel on the river (this means you are less likely to miss a bet versus raising the turn for a free showdown) and he will often value bet a worse hand the whole way. Also if he is bluffing on total air, raising makes him stop. against some players raising the turn would be good with a read, but I like ensuring a showdown against the LAGGY ones.

It depends on how LAGy UTG is. If you raise him, will he fold? Or will he 3-bet you with a weaker hand? I think you missed a raise somewhere - maybe the river, where you've got him to bet all the way down, or maybe the flop, where he might not believe you. I agree you definitely want to showdown but I bet he would have paid off a value-raise somewhere.
