Default Re: Advice From Current Pros- Quit a $100K Job? (long)

[ QUOTE ]
Canada consistently has one of the highest standards of living in the world.

I work in Canadian health care and I can say that although it is not without its problems, it is still some of the best in the world and universal for EVERYONE.

[/ QUOTE ]
Tell us a little bit about how long one has to wait for a doctor's appointment, surgery, etc. Maybe you should also tell us why a guy in Quebec is suing the government-managed healthcare system.

[ QUOTE ]

Poker winnings are also tax-free in Canada.

[/ QUOTE ]
As another poster pointed out, this is only true for recreational gamblers. Professionals (especially ones making over $100k) still have to pay taxes.

[ QUOTE ]

I am surprised that more internet poker pros don't try and move here.

[/ QUOTE ]
Because most of the pros here are from the US, and US-citizen poker pros would derive no tax advantages from moving to Canada.
