Default Top pair Top Kicker in huge multiway pot

No reads as I just sat down maybe 10 hands ago. Criticize my play on all streets? After flop I was worried of being up against a set so I slowed down. Should I have raised the turn or river? - The raise would not have been to protect my hand as they all would have called one more bet anyways.

I also like it. If you're having a good day, maybe you get to chop.

grunch:

Against three betting/calling opponents I think you took the right course. You're probably behind to Aces or a set of 8's (the CO perhaps?). Everyone is not bluffing or drawing to a flush, as the river calls later confirm for you. A large part of your preflop equity was in the fact of being suited, but you're left now with a single pair vs three opponents showing strength. Couple that fact with the knowledge that your hand is the obvious one to beat, would urge me to slow down.

I agree that he's probably beat. But 88? Who puts in one raise on the flop and slows down for fear of an overset? 88 raises the turn here all day long. If BB doesn't have AA or KK, I'm shocked.

Why no preflop raise?
