Re: Insert mole joke here
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Funny story about Farha, I'm playing at Tunica a few months ago and a small discussion about professional players comes up and the dealer asks if any of us had heard of Sammy Farha, and most of us had of course. Anyway she said that casino security had caught him palming chips in there a few months earlier. Just hearsay but that's what she said. [/ QUOTE ] I believe there was a thread on this in this forum or News, Views, Gossip when it happened a few months ago. [/ QUOTE ] The only thread I saw during a search was a thread about Farha miscalling his hand in a big limit Omaha game. Anyone have a link to something other than that? |

Worse. Floor. Rulings. Ever. The rule is if the cards are easily recoverable, they can still be played. I'm shocked the WSOP can't get this right. [/ QUOTE ] Rule 28 of the Poker TDA: [ QUOTE ] If a dealer kills an unprotected hand, the player will have no redress and will not be entitled to his money back. [/ QUOTE ] The hand wasn't protected in either case, game over. Kevin... |

[ QUOTE ]
So if he had chips or something on top of his cards they wouldn't have been mucked? Because it is perfectly possible to throw cards on someone else's even if they are somewhat covered (and it is my understanding that a card holder by rule cannot cover too much of your hole cards). If that had happened, the hand wouldn't have been mucked? He could have brushed off the top two cards and kept playing? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, from my understanding. If you protect your cards, they can't take them away from you and they can't get fouled by someone's mis-aimed fold. |

Re: Insert mole joke here
Nobody's mentioned that MM has 21k in chips. It's not alot, but he's doubled his stack. There would be much crow to eat here if he got deep in this tourney.

Re: WSOP Day 1B: \"Official\" Results, News & Discussion
I did this once in a live game. I flicked my cards in and they accidentally went flying on top of another player's unprotected cards. The cards weren't mixed but I still got yelled at by the dealer as if I did it on purpose.

They were the correct rulings. Look at it from another perspective. Hand #1. A player thinks for a bit. He picks up his cards, which we all know to be a tell that someone might fold. (remember, we all watch WPT, right?) Then he puts down his cards and makes no effort to protect them, and no verbal declaration to what he will do, and goes on to play with his chips waiting for the next hand. Obvious fold. Dealer picks up his cards and puts them in the muck because that's what he's trained to do. Hand 2 is a no-brainer. Protect your cards. The only difference is that the dealer might have made sure that the player intended to fold in hand 1, but it's the WSOP main event. Players should get it right. |
