Default How not to play a satellite bubble (lc)

I just won a seat in the Paradise Million 2.

1000 entries, all free-rolls, top 10 get a seat.

When we were down to 11 there was one player with less than a BB and would be all-in in three hands when this hand developed.

Everyone on my table folded to the sb who was #2 in chips and had been putting on a clinic of how not to play a huge
stack near the bubble.

He completes in the sb, like he had done for the last 15-20 orbits. The bb, #4 in chips, checks.

Flop comes 445, sb check, bb all-in, sb calls.

BB has 95, sb has 42.

Tournament over, BB loses his 180k stack, guy with 6k gets a seat.

People do this all the time. Remember this was a freeroll. Sometimes you can fold into the money more easily than you think if people are going to bust themselves out. With better players, the small stacks steal like crazy and things can drag out.

Oh, I certainly wasn't surprised. Watching both tables as we approached the seats, I thought there was maybe 2 other players that "got it".

I was never really in danger, never dropping below 7th in chips when we were at 40 or so left. But when we were down to 12 I folded 99, AJ suited, 66, and then pushed 63o.

Now I am obliged to play in a tournament with about 4000 others for a chance at a million - or I could be lucky enough to get second and win 10k
