cardio: jumping rope
what's the deal with jumping rope? good, bad, meh? anyone jump rope as part of their workout?

Awesome exercise. I do it mostly when i don't have time for a run. A quick few minutes jumping rope is great.

I used to do quite a bit. Good for foot speed 'n stuff. Invest in a quality heavy rubber rope with good ball bearings in the handles.

cool, I figure it's good for travel as well. should I do any sort of routine, or just jump in sets? I can't imagine I'll be able to do this for very long initially.

[/ QUOTE ] I jumprope for 4 minutes at a time with 30 seconds rest in between. I'm not saying it's the best way. It's just what I started doing years ago when I boxed and the way I still do it. I don't do anything fancy. No doubles or arm crosses or anything, just jump. I'd bet you can find routines on Google. |
