How can you be sure of the correct spelling of a word that is translated from another language? Channukah, hanukah, etc.. Some would say it is havah nagilah? Like these guys .

Not just Christmas! I had an Israeli prof in college (actually I taught his kids in Hebrew School!) He told me that when he was growing up, they would spend Yom Kippur on the beach playing poker. Hence, they called it..."Yom Ki-Poker".

i will not be there. i am not a Jew. But IMO all Jews present should play a game of craps for some clothes, just like in the bible when they roled dice for jesus's loin-cloth or whatever he wore. that would be cool.

My fiancee's family (they're Persian/Israeli) has a tradition of getting hammered en masse at a local Chinese place on Christmas night, then invading the local multi-plex for whatever ridiculous action movie is playing at the time. A few years ago it was XXX, I think this year it's gonna be King Kong.

I look forward to Christmas for a whole new set of reasons now...
