Default Call Here?

Table was limping a lot. Average stack ~t7500. Pretty far from bubble. I've only been at the table for 2 orbits, and I can't think of how villain specifically has been playing. I haven't played many hands and have had no showdowns, so he should think I'm tight if he's observant. Blinds 150/300 with 25 ante at a full table.

UTG+1 (t3.6k) limps
Hero (t10k) raises to t1300 in MP with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Folds to villain who calls

Pot = t3.25k
Flop = T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Villain pushes.

I folded pretty quickly, but am now reconsidering.

Yeah. I did think about the pfr amount and managed to convince myself to make a bad play. I basically just didn't expect a call.

Really guys? Are you discounting anyone else that might be at the table? I'd be ok with raising less actually so that you're not tied to the pot if this happens. Btw, his hand looks like 99, 77, 66, Axd to me. I don't feel like doing the math, and I'm bad at that whole thing anyways, but the flush draw possibilities outweigh the 2 overcards/counterfeit possibilities it seems. I think it's an easy fold.

I never suggested not raising pf. Raising more, less, or not at all is preferable to his amount though.

yeah i personally probably raise less or not at all, but i think more is preferable to the actual amount (i don't like more here cause there are still players to act and you have kq).

You played it fine, although I agree that the preflop raise should have been less, not more. The way you played it, you would have had to call 2.3k more to win a 5.55k pot. About 2.4 to 1, but you are most likely a bigger dog to his range of holdings than the pot odds give.
