Default Error Codes

When I restart my computer I always receive an error about a missing .dll. The program referenced (wild Tangent) was found by my spyware program and erased. How can I get rid of this message?

About 50% of the time I also receive an EAccess Violation. I am pretty sure that they aren't related but error codes always make me nervous.

Thanks for the help.

I believe you can use add/remove programs to get rid of Wild Tangent. I had the same problem about 6 months ago and I think that cured it.

I think I remember taking this Wild Tangent out a while ago. I think this broken .dll is just a leftover part. If anyone knows how to get rid of it I appreciate it.

download HijackThis and run it. You will get a list of programs and various other stuff running on your computer. In one of the lists is startup stuff. Most likely wild tangent is still trying to start up when you turn on your computer. Remove the reference to it from the list in Hijack This. Be very careful, though, if you remove the wrong stuff your computer will be screwed. Only remove the reference to Wild Tangent.
