Re: TPGK against the overly tight
[ QUOTE ]
I agree. I would check/call the flop and turn and possibly lead the river. Although an opponent this aggressive may bet the river anyway and if you lead may realize that there's a good chance a river raise with a worse hand wins without showdown. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe a n00b question, but what would be the reasoning to lead out on the river after calling down? (or did you mean only when a scare card comes?) |

[/ QUOTE ] You bet the river after check/calling the whole way in case the villain has been betting the flop and turn with KK or QQ and plans to take a free showdown with the A on board. If this is the case and you check, you miss out on a bet. |

against a player this aggressive i definitely call a river raise. [/ QUOTE ] Errant, I agree. That's why I would probably check/call the river as well here. |

Re: TPGK against the overly tight
Just to clarify, I think check/calling the river here is OK IF you call down on the flop and turn. But as it played out I bet the river and fold to a raise. I think a bluff raise is highly unlikely given the line you took.
