Phillies/Diamondbacks Night Game...

Any thoughts on the Phillies -150? From what I've been hearing, this Claudio Vargas is pretty bad... Analysis from those who know their [censored]? (i.e. Whipshaw, MrBaseball, etc...)

-150 looks about right to me, perhaps PHI has a slight edge against that line. Padilla has been pitching well lately, very well in fact and had a nice start against ARI earlier this year. His career numbers against ARI are pretty good as well. Vargas was absolutely terrible earlier this year, but got much better into July and August, although he did get seriously roughed up in his last start. I think Vargas is always liable for a poor outing.

PHI is generally a poor road hitting team, although they have been playing alright lately. ARI is a rather poor home hitting team, and has been playing badly.

Overall, -150 seems fair to me, seeing that PHI is on the road with the better pitcher. I'd stay away from that line.
