Default Fold the river? Duh. Why can\'t I?

20/40, opponent hasn't been too noticeable, I think has agg of about 1.8.

7-handed. Early limper, I raise with KJo, BB 3-bets, folded back to me. Flop is J87r. He bets, I raise, he calls. Turn is a blank. Check/bet/call. River is, of course, an ace.

He bets.

Why can't I fold?

Because you can't be 8.5:1 certain that he's not a moron donking 99, or KQ.

or TT. I actually think these sorts of "desperation donks" are fairly common and would also call.

Because it's pretty much correct for him to donk/fold any pair here (not that he necessarily knows that, but still)

Well, you might have played the rest of the hand a bit different - and I hope it's not as a bluff?

Well I felt like a complete moron when I called and he showed AQ. I've seen desperation donks like that, of course, which is why I called, but I felt it in my bones that I was beat. (Of course, I've felt that before, and won, but not that often.)

Ugh. I run bad.
