I play it like you did, cuz I hate unclean outs. I think you'll find a better spot later.

I would fold every time. You've got nothing invested here, and it will cost you 1/3 of your stack to see another street. Even if you hit, you might not have the best hand. The raise screams that Villain wants to shut out draws, so he's probably firing again on the turn.

I tend to not be a pot odds kinda player if the price to chase is a significant percentage of my stack. I believe it's more advantageous (thanks to 2plus2) to preserve my FE for the bubble.

Start thinking of your chips as power and leverage. The more you waste early, the less you will be taken seriously when the blinds get high.

You really don't want to call off 1/3 of your stack with a flush draw on level 1, especially an 8 high flush draw.
