Hi morph,
That's got to be a -EV play, but it's a good point to watch out for them. I might have tended to think before getting a read that they were generally losers, while in fact they might be ultra-tight aggressives hoping to get lucky and only pouncing if they make a big hand.

Even bad players bluff or semi-bluff. If they see a large stack they associate you with good cards and winning, so they are less likely to make these plays on you.

Nearly all the poker I play is 6max though, so you do play a lot of hands with these people. I have found a big difference in how they play vs me after I take a lot of pots down as opposed to after I lose pot after pot.

In a limit game where stack size does not directly affect your playing stategy, if you run bad and your stack dwindles down, do you rebuy more chips so that you look like a winner to any new players that come to the table? (Of course the people currently at the table know your stuck.)

Discuss.

I always buy-in at 40xBB and I have never lost my stack.

makes little difference.

There are better ways to win - playing your cards right, reading players, reading hands. "Acting loose" is an art form that I think can win money at the table.
