New to Omaha, is this all too standard?

I'm really having a hard time adjusting my hand strength values from HE to PLO. This, however, seems like a relatively clear cut fold right? If a rag comes on 4th am I still check folding barring a read?

I wouldn't bother raising this hand here, it's not very versatile and you're throwing out a red flag and probably wont get any action if you flop your set. I feel that much more experienced players here will disagree with me though.

As played easy easy fold. If it were a rag you should still probably check fold barring a read yes because I think your hand is pretty well defined in the mind of the other player, so he's in a good spot here to only call you with a better hand I think.

Then again, I think I give these guys too much credit.

Is gaammmmon a poster on here? this guys constantly grinding these games. same with IanBanks or whatever his name is.

I doubt anyone would disagree with you here. Red is fairly deep stacked, out of position, with a very weak naked AAxx hand. If I recall correctly, several top posters here would muck this hand pre flop OOP. At a minimum, the accepted wisdom appears to be, "don't raise with this unless you can get most (like 75%) of your stack in" which is virtually impossible in this example.

In this type of game, with that hand and OOP, I probably would have limped/called PF and check/folded the flop.

That is just me though and I am still learning this game.

please explain to me the logic of folding AAxx pf instead of calling the big blind?

isnt that simply advice to people who cant fold it to avoid chip spewing later?

Folding is extreme, especially against the loose-passive pre-flop common at these stakes, but I certainly wouldn't raise anything in early position: No sense giving away the strength of your hand without getting either a big pot or a lot of folders in return.
