There is no set value here, because hero put $8 in PF with a $50 stack. No way am I not getting all-in on this board, with these stacks. Calling the river is a no-brainer, and I agree with pushing the turn.

I called the river bet. Villain shows JJ and takes my stack with his flopped set against my overpair. Subsequently, I feel like a fish.

I guess I should have pushed the turn, but I think it's close and player dependent. I think a turn fold seems weak but given the action I still question whether Villain would take the same line with any hand I beat.

I started to feel like the bad guy when I was saying he had a set and he knew what you had.

Your reraise put you on aces or kings. He knew what you had and didn't care. Considering his preflop raise in EP, it was safe to say he had a decent PP.

Therefore, a set of jacks was the only hand that made sense with his betting into you.

Kurto, you were correct. So why didn't you tell me to fold the turn?

Thanks for the analysis. This forum is really helping my game.

On another note... am I the only person who reads and rereads Kowciller's post because I can't stop fixating on the gyrating animation?

That's tough. It's hard not to let the result affect your analysis of the hand, but you couldn't get away from this hand. I still would push the turn (or called on the river like you did).
