Default Re: KK overpair call a big push?

So he was "mixing it up PF", but what was his thinking on the flop. It seems as though there is a lot of overbet & calling on a whim going on these days. 2.5:1 seems very poor given the action.

By the way he described the action, I believe he thought he had a lock on the hand.

"Oh, I'm only asking for a friend." Come on GrunchCan, you can admit it. We'll still respect you.

This makes all the difference. With reads, this could go from an easy fold to an easy call.

Well, maybe not an "easy call." I can't see any reason for this to turn to an easy call. Borderline at best, IMO. Just to many ways to lose with a LOT of action.

Well you don't even have to play in the game to put MP2 on a flush draw, and MP3 folded, so you just have to have a read of the BN as a maniac and it's an easy call. Easy.

Well, I don't know how well he was reading his opponents. My friend would make this call against any opponent, including an unknown, I feel.

Yeah, that's why I thought it was pretty -EV initially. I'm fairly certain, as is everyone else, that it is -EV without a read.

Er, so I don't normally consider myself math challenged, but when I read this, it looks like the pot the hero would be effectively calling (not counting the part of the pushed stack that he can't win) would be $151.65 with the hero having $75.65; that looks like 2:1, not 2.5:1. Did I miss something?
