For video I would say Divx
For audio Winamp.
Or Realplayer for both.

video: media player classic (it's a windows media player 6.4 clone with added features and keyboard shortcuts)

audio: winamp (right click a folder, click 'play in winamp', and you'll never want to use a 'music manager' again)

The correct answer to this is VLC .

It will play anything including partial files (when you can't complete that damned download!!!).

winamp for audio

MPLAYER FOR VIDEO!!!! IT PWNS!!!(not media player, its a linyx based player that playes EVERYTHING).
