Default Re: what is a gigantic downswing in NL?

Just coming through a downswing myself. About 6-7 buyins in NL100. It was through a transitional period in which I was moving up to NL200, so it shook my confidence. Also, in the past two weeks I've run into horrible luck in NL200. I've recovered, but I've been kind of scared to hit the tables so I'm playing tourneys mostly as of late.

I dunno, my confidence gets really shaken very easily. Anyone else like that? I want to play the cash games, but I'll somehow talk myself out of it.

"Ah I'll play the ring games tomorrow, gonna go eat soon"
"I'll play a few PC games today, tomorrow I'll play poker"

Etc. I feel stupid.

I had an 8 buy in downswing and wrote about it on this forum. The post was called "humility (thanks Ray Zee)" if you're curious.
