Hmm, maybe I'm confused then.
I thought he was referring to the part where Matusow commented on Raymer's itty-bitty balls.

Yeah, that happened before the "key confrontation". If I'm remembering correctly, Matusow had SLIGHTLY more chips than Raymer, and they put all the money in on the flop. It was basically a coin flip situation (Fossilman had the slight edge). Raymer won, Matusow was crippled.

By this I simply mean how many pots are slightly inflated for Greg by players playing to knock out the world champ and get a story to tell?

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think they can knock him out of the tournament yet since he's the chip-leader.
Otherwise, I think there's a combination of respect as well as 'it would be great to beat him' going on.
Not unlike me playing on Johnny Chan's table.
But for the most part I'm just trying to play good poker and I'm sure all of his opponents are too.
They probably don't care THAT much about knocking him out. They just want to finish as high as they can. Lots of money involved obviously.

However...I wouldn't be surprised to see Matusow play a few extra hands against him in hopes of hitting a big flop against Raymer.

300 players left or so...you listed 9 of the top 36...and somehow think that 4 or 5 of those that you listed could make the final table?
Highly unlikely.

[/ QUOTE ]

Actually, it should have been 10 instead of 9. I forgot to list Neverwin. 4 or 5 of those in the list "could" make the final table and make for great entertainment. How likely these players make it to the final table is irrelevant to my wishful thinking.
