Some Websites are working... some aren't... Help?

I've been out of town for a couple months. I get back, my computer was off, as I left it. I know that my roomate used it, but probably did nothing out of the ordinary.

Now, I can go to 2+2, and many websites. I cannot go to hotmail.com but I CAN go to www.hotmail.com (weird?) and I cannot get past the login page there.

I can't connect to AIM, but I can use PartyPoker.

I have done scans with Symantec and Adaware, and everything is fine. Any ideas?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

My guess is you got the QHOSTS virus. If you can't get to sites like Amazon, EBay, McAfee, etc. That's the one.
