BTW, I realize that 4th street was probably a bad call with my dead flush and straight cards, but I thought I would take a card off given that no one's board particularly scared me

When 6J beats into boards with open pairs and such I think he is telling you he has a big pair in the hole. I think a check/fold is in order...if you wanted to get crazy you could go for a check-raise. I would be suprised if it worked though...

With all the 5s, 6s, and diamonds dead I probably would have folded on 3rd. Its hard to envision making a high hand.

On 4th, the pot is small and you really don't have much. I'd just fold.

I think I would check/fold. The pots not very big and you may be chasing Seat 3 for High, with the risk of Seat 4 scooping with a low str8/flush.
