Was this a bad river play?

5/10 limit hold'em online. Two EP limpers, I call in LP with 44. Both blinds call, so we are five on the flop.

Flop comes 3 4 J, two spades. EP1 bets, EP2 calls, I raise. Both blinds fold, and both EP call.

On the turn comes a 6, putting two hearts on the board. Checked to me, I bet. EP1 raises, EP2 folds. I reraise and EP1 caps it. I call.

River is an offsuit T. EP1 bets, I call.

I thought a few seconds before I decided to call. There were three bigger sets possible, and two straights. I didn't really think he had TT or 52. But JJ, 66 or 75 felt possible.

How terrible is the EP limper?

Every single better hand is outside of a typical player's limping range, save perhaps 75s. And I guess 66 is a possible flop bet.

If the J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] is on the board, I like the river call a lot more.

If he hates money, sure. This is a great board to bet/call, which Hero unfortunately cannot do. The raise/fold line blows, but Hero is very easily ahead in this situation and I'd make the raise against some opponents and the call against others.

Well, needless to say my options were call or raise. Of course, I felt that if I raised he was very likely to reraise.

This is an easy river call IMO. Both straights are made with hands that only complete fish will limp EP and JJ/TT figure to be hands that the average player will raise with in EP (With TT being unlikey given the turn action). This leaves 66 as the only reasonable hand that beats you. Without reads the river decision is more between calling and raising, with calling being the better option if this is an unknown villian.

I don't mind it at all, especially if you can't fold to a three bet. But it depends. I doubt he has a straight give how terrible his hole cards would have to be. I think this is all incredibly read dependent. If he is the type that you have seen slowplay monsters in the beginning, then I am raising. Too many people play AA and KK like this.

The table had been mostly pretty aggressive for a while. Including raises from EP with hands as weak as AT (!), and my opponent had not struck me as the kind of guy who would limp with JJ in that spot. But then again, he might be mixing it up. I felt JJ were possible, but not likely. The hands I did fear were 66 and 75 (I definately think he might have played a 75s in EP).
