Default Pardon my stupidity...

...but can someone explain to me what the "WSOP circuit events" are? I haven't been able to watch any of the televised coverage for an explanation and a quick google search didn't help.

They're poker tournaments with the WSOP name attached to them.

Just an opportunistic extension of the WSOP brand ... kind of like Diet Vanilla Dr Pepper, or CSI: Montpelier.

You've been answered. The circuit events give rings instead of bracelets and have expanded in number for this year too. Smart move on Harrah's part and sure to annoy the WPT some more.

I'm wondering how they count WSOP Final Tables now. At this point *I think* they are including the Main event at circuit events.
