5/10 Limit O8 hand - give me a plan on this flop

5/10 Limit at Stars.

I have been in for 2 circuits. One soft spot just busted. Another soft spot is LP in this hand. He raise a gutshot straight/low draw on the flop with no other high possiblity in EP, he calls alot. I don't think he understands the game.

Others appear sane at the moment.

I am dealt 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] in the BB.
4 folds
LMP calls
LP (fish) calls
CO calls
button and sb folds
I check

Flop is 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

This gives me all manner of 2nd best high hands and low draws against what appears other than 1 spot to be a decent line up.

Whats your plan?

Check-fold. What card other than an ace or the case deuce gives you any confidence in your hand?

You have little chance for low, and likely need to fill up for a chance at high and it might still be no good.

Results,

MP bet, LP called. CO and I folded.

I actually wondered how close it was with the fish there. From the responses clearly is wasn't,

Turn was a spade. River paired the board. MP showed A4 for the nut low and wheel on the flop. Idiot LP showed flush.

Anyway, thanks for responses. I'll try and post something more interesting from this level later in the week [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

My plan is to try and see the turn for no more than one bet. This is a very marginal situation considering you have almost no chance at low. Therefore, just try to check around on flop, or check and call one bet on flop. This way you'll see turn cheap and you can get out if you need to. I can also see why someone would advise you to check-fold on the flop, but it seems to me that you can take one off if it's cheap.

Same as above. I wouldn't want to be on the river with this hand when the board pairs and a raising war breaks outs.

You have a draw to a high hand and no low. Anytime you make nut low you may only win a quarter. Anytime you make a full house you may lose to a better one. I hate that hand.

Why do you think an ace gives him any reason to be happy? This would make it more likely he wins a quarter than a half.

Eh? There is $22 in the pot and you want to pay $5 with a 1 in 5 draw? You need atleast $50 in the pot to make that call and that assumes that your idiot full house will win half. Let's say you call, turn comes a 5 and the betting gets capped. Do you fold now?
