Hey Emporer, I was in your exact situation at about the same age. Moved home after a wicked divorce. Planned to be home for a few months, came down with a brian tumor and ended up living with my parents for two years and incurring 75k in debt from medical bills. Anyway that was over 10 years ago. I'm glad you're out on your own. You have so much more self worth when you're doing it on your own. Having a great roomate makes splitting an apartment very nice indeed. I did that for a few years until I bought a condo.

I'm a local (Cincy) so if you ever want to have a beer let me know. Good luck to you, you're on the right track.

Not a lot of people use "came down with" as the verbage involving a brain tumor. VNH.

Anyway, why is this thread 7 pages long? Yes, being 31 and living with your parents is slightly pathetic, but unless you're Brad Pitt there's something pathetic about your life too. For example, being a dick to strangers on the internet is pretty pathetic.

Anyway, OP, good move. If you can really make $25/hr playing 20 hours a week that's enough to live on with a roommate, so you can use your remaining free time to further your education or get a parttime job or something.

Ahhh thanks for bringing this post up again, I really needed a good laugh.

As for Emporer(of nothing), I've already knocked your sad life, (and if I could go on further I'd add that you are probably a chronic drunk), but that's not why I'm typing this. I just want to say thank you for reminding me of how lucky I am to have a normal life that doesn't involve living with my parents, or being 31, or being jobless, let alone all three.

Thanks

-Matt

As for Emperor, you are my hero, (and if I could go on further I'd add that I am a chronic drunk), but that's not why I'm typing this. I just want to say thank you for reminding me of how lucky I am that my crack whore mother didn't take the doctor's advice to kill me at birth do to my pea sized brain

Thanks
