Hah, finally a topic in which I excel. I can crush you all with examples of actual bad play. Here, for example, is the very last hand I played in a Stars $11 SnG. Read it and bow to my fishiness:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (7 handed) converter

saw flop|saw showdown

BB (t2755)
UTG (t3430)
MP1 (t1985)
MP2 (t1590)
CO (t910)
Hero (t1210)
SB (t1620)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
2 folds, MP2 calls t100, 1 fold, Hero raises to t300, 2 folds, MP2 calls t200.

Flop: (t750) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP2 bets t1000, Hero calls t910 (All-In).

Turn: (t2660) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: (t2660) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: t2660

Results in white below:
MP2 has Th Kc (one pair, kings).
Hero has Qc Ad (one pair, queens).
Outcome: MP2 wins t2660.

[/ QUOTE ]

Could be a great call for all I can tell. I dunno what your read on the guy was!

My "read" was that the villain was bluffing with A-x, where x < Q and doesn't pair the board. But I had no solid evidence from previous hands he would make this bluff, other than it's not uncommon among the other fish at this level. I should have given him credit for at least top pair.

i find that i make my worst mistakes as i am winding down a set, with only 1 or 2 tables still going...

doesn't make much sense, except that i think it just being ready for a break, and losing some focus.

I dunno that you should automatically give hiim credit for "at least top pair"....I think the plurality of the time that play is a flush and/or straight draw. However, yeah...if you didn't have any reason to think he was particularly LAGgy, then maybe calling wasn't so super.

It was just a terrible lapse in concentration that's all. Since I started 8 tabling I've never made a play that I felt was clearly wrong, however this one was. I came over the top of someone with a very marginal hand, when the BB was pot committed anyway...it was just stupid trust me. I just wasn't focused for those few seconds. Also I was just one tabling at that point, as it was the final one of the set!

[/ QUOTE ]

I was expecting something, well, interesting at least. A bit anticlimatic.

someone min raised on the button to 600, they had 2k chips to begin the hand. I was a big stack (about 3000) and reraised with a garbage hand, taking their raise as weakness, meanwhile the BB has 5 chips left after paying the 300 big blind. It was like my brain just shut off for a second. Of course the button had AA. Of course I also flopped two pair but got counterfeited on river

Ok I didn't give all the details, but it was really stupid.
