129 weekday sun-thur 6 hours you are expected to play each day-no limit requirements.

I might add they only have limited space on the poker rate, so book early.

I don't want to stay at the MGM. I can get the poker rate at Bellagio and pay less than $150/night (on average).

Are you really expecting yourself to play 4-6 hours of poker each day in order to get the poker rate on your room there while you're playing in the biggest tournament in the world? I can't imagine putting yourself through several more hours of play after each full day of the WSOP could be worth doing.

I don't refute anything else you're saying though - if Party is screwing you out of $50/day on the room rate after the high rake they're already getting on the steps tourneys that is just ridiculous. Especially for a company with hundreds of millions of profit per year.

This is under control--they are very lax about monitoring actual hours, plus you can aggregate hours for anyone in your room.

1. How would you like it if you entered a tournament, and of course paid an entry fee, and they announced that first prize was $13,500. Then you went on to win the tournament, and they tell you, "We are only paying you $13,250--we want to make more money, the entry fee was not enough!"

2. Though the above is a completely legitimate point, for me this is not about the money, its about wanting to stay in a hotel of my choosing--I think the MGM at $150/night is a complete ripoff.

B-Man,

While I do think you have some valid points, I'd check the website on party poker first. This might be one of those "buyer beware" things.

You might not like it, but by entering the step 6s you agreed to this with your entry fee.

On a side note - thanks for giving me one more reason never to open a party account

While the taxes probably aren't $50/night, a 20%+ tax rate on hotel rooms isn't uncommon which would make the room $180/night.

I believe the hotel tax rate in Vegas is 9%. Perhaps there are other fees or gratuities or something else included? [typed while wearing my glass is half full hat]
