Give me a better line
NL 400 9 handed I have been playing 6max almost exclusively for the last few months so i am "transitioning" back to some full ring play. On to the hand:
I open with black kings from UTG for 16, villain (550) makes it 38, folded back to me I make it 130, he calls. I have about 500 to start the hand. Flop: 2 4 10 with two clubs. The pot is 286, I have 360 and push. Didn't like it as soon as I did it. Thoughts? *edit* No notes on villain, no pokertracker, and he is in MP.

Actually, I like it. The only thing you are behind right now is AA and TT. Any reasonable bet you make (1/2-full pot) is going to leave you pot-committed on the turn anyway. Checking looks like a missed AK, and villain's going to bet strong and you have to call - leaving you pot-committed on the turn again.
So any way you play this, all you're chips are going into the center on the turn. If that's the case, you may as well push now. If your stack was deeper you'd have more options, but as it is you're pretty much stuck.

My point is that checking is likely to produce the same result as betting out. If that's the case then betting is the better choice. If you know that all of your chips are going into the center by the end of the hand then pushing on the flop has three benefits: 1) It adds at least SOME fold equity - maybe only a token amount, and maybe a lot - but at least some. 2) It eliminates any implied odds your opponent may be counting on to complete his draw. 3) It prevents you from making a mistake by second guessing yourself on later streets.
