Party 200k Hand
I generally play the 200 SNG's on party, and am making an attempt to loosen up my play appropriately for MTT's.
The check/call bet turn line is a standard one in I use in SNG's against opponents when I have a weaker hand like a mid PP and am OOP. I think villain made it pretty clear he liked his hand here. MP1 (t1485) Hero (t1500) MP3 (t1475) CO (t1470) Button (t1475) SB (t1445) BB (t1525) UTG (t1575) UTG+1 (t1500) UTG+2 (t1550) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls t15, 3 folds, Hero raises to t75, 3 folds, SB calls t65, BB calls t60, UTG calls t60. Re: Party 200k Hand
I think your first mistake was not raising enough before the flop. pocket 9s is a very strong hand in that position. also, I'm not sure I would've reraised on the turn. there weren't many hands you could beat. not many people would bet a pair of 5s or 2s like that. if they had a 4 in the hand, they wouldnt've called on the flop, unless they were retarded. for then to bet out on the turn, they probably had at least jacks. They could've made a straight draw or have been slowplaying a big pair, too. Also, they could've had 5-4 and made 2 pair. In any case, there wasn't much you could beat there.

Re: Party 200k Hand
Honestly, I just fold this turn to the gaybet. You left 70% of your stack in this hand and that just sucks. It's hard to make plays like this without very deep stacks.
He could be semibluffing but I think you can find better spots. If I would continue on the turn I would flat call his bet. If he's semibluffing and doesn't hit it would be hard for him to bet into you again on the river. If he fires another bullet on the river I think we can safely fold (unless he gives us a real good price.) |
