Default 25/50 SH A9 two pair

3 handed 25/50 on ub

i've played with villian plenty before, though i dont really seem to have a read on him. he's not bad, but i don't find him particularly "great". i'm playing fairly well and my only recent history with him was a river checkraise bluff that he called down maybe 5 minutes earlier.

villian has 6k, i have him covered with about 8k.

he pot sizes the button. sb folds. i call with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] HU for 375 bucks.

flop: A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I check. He bets 200. I checkraise to 600. He thinks and calls. HU, 1575 in the pot.

Turn: J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I check. He bets 400. I think about checkraising again, but I decide he's probably going to fold AK/AQ,AT this time, so I call intending to auto-pot-size bet any non-spade trying to represent a missed flush draw. HU for about 2400.

River: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I pot size it to 2400. He goes in the tank and then pushes his stack.

Thoughts?

I hate the turn check-call.

Who's the player, btw? Given the way the hand played out, it REALLY seems like he has AJ.

Is he a chronic all-in bluffer? If not, this really feels like a fold on the river.

I would prefer c/call flop, c/r turn. Or if you c/r flop, make it for more money so it looks like a draw and you can induce a 3 bet from a big ace.

I don't understand how you are playing 3 handed 25/50NL without a read on this guy.

i think leading the flop woulda been good, if he raises, you can move in right there.
that flop checkraise was way too small... make it 1200 there. youre not gonna force him to give you acton with QJ by betting small...
as played im really torn on this call... his play screams AJ... but you didnt leave yourself a lot of room to escape. now youre getting nearly 4:1 on this call and it looks like you cant win... yuck!
shouldve checkraised at least pot (975 straight) nj the flop... the river was the spot for an underbet...

BTW/ when is the last time you saw someone play a flush draw this way?? i see ppl on thuis board say "check/call turn, push river... it will look like busted draw," uhhhmmm, no. noone plays draws like this... it will look like a good hand value betting.

i did have a read on him, which was basically a decent, if not good player, though the small turn bet and the river push was a first for me against this guy.
