Post to Sklanksy: Can we clean up this forum please? *PETITION*
is it possible that this forum can have a set of guidelines or post restrictions that only allow members with a minimum number of posts, or a selected group of people access? how about only a select few can create posts? the WPT forum has gotten so cluttered with garbage there never seems to be any valuable content anymore. i would have no problem not being able to post in this forum as long as i would be able to read posts by players who are playing on a WPT level. is it possible to seperate this forum into 2 categories? one for tournament experiences and strategy, and another one for the masses to make posts about the random gossip? i cant speak for the high stakes players, but it appears that the masses of jibberjabbers have deterred posts from players such as Raymer, Phillips, Duke and a few others. How is Raymer supposed to contribute to the forums when his responses are followed by either glorius praise or envious slander? if anyone else agrees with me then please say "I".

UM nope then it wouldnt be a "PUBLIC" forum. Im guessing you dont have a lifetime membership to the ACLU lol dont seem real big on free speech from the some of the scary posts you have made. If your post is in anyway a response to my thread I think Matt has spoken.....and I dont even think you have a modicum of a point. Say it with me "free flow of ideas"...remember that is a good thing not a bad on.

[/ QUOTE ] I disagree with those ideas but I would like to see a rule limiting irrelevant discussion. I think it's fair enough to criticize players for their general style of play, or for play on a particular hand, but not on things like physical appearance or their private life. |

This forum just needs a little moderation. The staff doesn't seem to really care about or pay attention to what goes on in here. |

I mostly agree with you, but remember this ISN'T a public forum.
It's a privately owned forum. You don't have the right to anything but what they give you here. Users are banned often. |

Re: Post to Sklanksy: Can we clean up this forum please? *PETITION*
The forum shouldn't be split into two groups. Rather, the 2+2 moderators simply need to continue enforcing the basic rules of forum decorum (ooooh, yeah, I'm a poet).
It would be pointless to have a forum on which only "elite" posters would be allowed to voice their opinion. Such an arrangement would run contrary to the purpose of this site, which is to increase the overall understanding of the game of poker. What use would it be to have a forum on which only players such as Raymer, Arieh, Duke, et al., could post, if the average beginner were not permitted to submit comments and/or questions regarding their posts? While I agree that the level of discourse on this particular forum has recently degenerated markedly, I don't think that the original poster's recommended solution should be adopted. |
