Default confusing ak hand.. stars 30-60

5-handed. villain is an absolute donk.. limping 83s, cold-calling 3 w/ k2o... calling down w/ any piece of the board... i'm immediately to his left and i've been raising a lot to isolate.. he tends to donk bet any flop that doesn't have an ace, but he almost always folds to aggression on the turn. this hand was different and i was pretty lost on the turn.

hero: a [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]k [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

2 folds. villain limps in cutoff. hero raises on button. blinds fold. limper calls.

flop is 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

villain bets, hero raises, villain calls.

turn is q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. villain bets, hero???

You're losing here to 98h, 87h or A8h.

i'm also losing to aa, 22, 33, and 88.. what's your point? i can't see why it's any more likely that this villain would have a8 over jt or something

I've struggled with these kinds of situations many times.

It feels like you should keep going because you have such a strong preflop hand. But I think because your hand is a draw to top pair, and your outs might be dirty, it is better to give it up, even if that means you fold the best hand sometimes.

Its tough when you're playing someone who you just have no idea wtf he's thinking.

Those are my thoughts, I dont know if they are good advice. Best of luck.

Raise! He's bad enough that he has bullshit often enough you can't fold and raising gives you the chance to get him to fold with outs or maybe even a better hand. When a moron follows a weird line, he's on a random bluff a lot.
