Default did i miss a bet anywhere?

15/30 live:

Hero is MP with JJ

folded to hero who raises

Fold to Button(Lag who's been running cold) who calls, Blinds fold

Flop is J/J/7

Hero Bets, Button raises, Hero calls?

Turn A (Beautiful I think)

Hero Checks, Button checks behind (puke)

River---Rag

Hero Bets, Button folds

Is there any proper way to play quads, I thought that a flop check would be too suspicious, but I could have either fired the turn or 3-bet the flop. Either way I think he probably had a small pocket pair and was scared of the turn A

You are not getting any more bets here, after you flat call his flop raise, and the turn brought an A. He surley has put you on AK thru Ax or a J. You have the deck crippled.

How about this line....since he is obviously trying to represent a J on the flop, try to convince him you DON"T have a J. How do you do this? 3-bet the flop! Since he's a LAG, this may convince him you are trying to re-steal with Ax, thinking there's no way you re-raise if YOU indeed had a J. This would force him to fold right here, or continue his charade, prolly by capping. Hopefully he puts you on a hand like Ax.

Now the turn is a beautiful card, do you see why?

Yeah you missed a ton...Since you are a preflop raiser, A is a terrible card for you. If he would have a good A in his hand he'd 3 bet preflop so most likely he doesn't. He is afraid of an A and not betting it and you have to bet your hand yourself. Now if you'd 3 bet the flop A becomes a great card that he my just try to bluff at ( see the logic?)...

My thoughts exactly....he's trying to represent a J. You actually froze him with your flat call on the flop. Once you 3 bet the flop, he must cap or fold. If he caps, he's tied to this large pot, and must follow through on the turn.
