Re: Should I finish college? (long)
OP,
You are a spoiled [censored]. Your parents are paying for you to attend an overpriced college, you have no job, and you want to drop out with one year left? |

Re: Should I finish college? (long)
[ QUOTE ]
My apartment in NYC is about a 15 minute subway ride or 20-30 min bus ride (NYU provides free bus transportation) to campus. The ability to schedule classes consecutively isn't guaranteed. This means I could have a class at 9 AM and then one at 5 PM. I would then either have to stay on campus or take the bus/subway back/forth and waste a lot of time. [/ QUOTE ] I can't believe that nobody has responded to this portion of your post. It is baffling that you live in NYC and somehow think this is a big negative. |

Re: Should I finish college? (long)
Why is it baffling? Most people live close to campus where they can roll out of bed 15 minutes before class and make it there on time.

If you make so much bank you can afford a Village apartment. Most people in NYC have a commute much worse than you. A 15 minute trip to class is not a good reason to drop out. |

But you're a senior - you can get whatever classes you want. |

Re: Should I finish college? (long)
What most people here haven't considered is that you have closer to a HALF a year left. You only need to take 4 more classes related to your major, and 4 mickey mouse classes. Take your demanding classes the first semester, and take the mickey mouses the following semester. Take 4 intro classes - two languages, psychology, and whatever else. Then graduate.
Besides, you'll probably waste all your academic time anyway and just cram during finals. Two weeks a semester of actual work isn't bad. It doesn't sound like money is an issue, why are you bringing up your $600k goal? BTW, playing 30 hours a week for an entire year is not easy - I would cut some off the top if I were you. Lastly, in a traditional upbringing where your parents' "goal" is to get you past college, it is a dick move to quit this late in the game. If they say they are okay with it, they're lying to you. |

If I play 30 hrs/week for 50 weeks a year, I expect to make over $600k. [/ QUOTE ] Are you sure you didn't accidentally add in an additional zero? |
