Default Back to SnG\'s

I'm thinking of going back to playing 1 or 2 table tourney's. They seem easier than playing ring games? Getting burned out on the ring games anyhow. My guess is the tourney's are less rake overall based on how much play you get but I never figured it out. What do you guys think?

i'm a ring game player myself and I think win rate is negligble but lower variance.

i.e. 1000 bankroll, enough to play NL50 or 11s.
4-table SNGs for 3 hours and you'll likely play about 16 of them? with an ROI of 30% that's a profit of $53

4-table NL50 for 3 hours and you'll see about 600 hands, a win rate of 8BB/100 = $48

"i.e. 1000 bankroll, enough to play NL50 or 11s."

Enough to play the 22s very comfortably, or 33s (with the need to drop down after a poor run).

It's also easier to 4tabling sngs than NL ring.

SNGs = smaller BR needed & higher hourly rate. Ring becomes more attractive when you start playing higher stakes.

I'm going to step in where I don't belong. I don't 10-table, but with SNGs, I would assume that once you get a bunch under your belt, your ROI should barely drop between 1 and 10 tables. ESPECIALLY if you have two monitors and no overlap. I could be wrong though.

4 tabling NL ring for 8bb... seems like a lot but is that cause 4 tables combined equals 8bb? Also multi tabling NL ring I find kind of hard. reads and post flop play matter a ton more. Multitabling Limit is much easier though. But if you get real good at NL ring and get into High Stakes I believe its much more profitable but how much variance is there?

talking 2xBigblinds/100 hands.

very good and reasonably attainable win rates for 200NL and down is in the 8-10BB/100 area.
as you move up obviously your win rate will decrease, but at 400NL if you're making 5BB/100 that's 40 bucks/100 hands which really isn't too shabby.

I kinda torn on this as well.

I play mainly $3/6 ring games, but have been dabbling in SNGs with some success.

I find them far less stressful because a bad night doesn't cost me nearly as much, but a good night can still net good money. I also enjoy the change of pace that goes with pushbotting my mind out.

Think I'm going to switch to playing half and half, with a sprinkling of MTTs with big overlays.

Maybe that will keep my ADD at bay.

I haven't played a ring game since July and my bankroll has been going steadily up since I switched over to SnGs exclusively. Of course, your mileage may vary.
