Re: How do you play 99? (In this situation 10+1)
I've come across this situation so many times (although, not always with the BB pushing). My general range for mathematically analyzing this is AJ+, 66+ (but no AA). Using pokerstove, 99 is a 48.5% favorite here. Because the BB is pushing, I think you can increase the hand range to include any pair, any ace, perhaps even KQ.
Anyway, I don't regard my read on the difference because it's the BB. I fold here. Scuba |

Small-medium pairs are good for raising all in. horrible for calling all in.

I fold pretty easily here.
Even if you're sure it's PVS I don't think it's worth the risk here. |

I fold pretty easily here. Even if you're sure it's PVS I don't think it's worth the risk here. [/ QUOTE ] To make this call you better be sure are your the favorite of at least 70/30, otherwise it is pointless. Even if he has A2o your not that big of a favorite. Wait for a better spot. BTW I would have pushed. Nobody showed any strength. |

You would have pushed 99 on level 3 with 745 chips?
This is horrible advice you're giving here. Are you sure this isn't a leak of yours to begin with? PS: if he did have A2o, 99 is a 70/30 favorite... but thats out of the question. |

Re: How do you play 99? (In this situation 10+1)
Easy push? As in I should of pushed in sb originally? Well most of the time those behind me and the bb(not knowing of his actions in this hypothetical) has less of a hand. Most of the time I pick up the pot, about a 6th of my stack, right there. I think it's somewhat rare that someone calls me here and I'm beating them, slightly less of the time that I get a caller and they are beating me.
I hate the call, therefor I should fold. In the future I suppose it's a push for me, I was just playing more conservative ala "ben franklins revised beating the 11s" Can anyone convince me otherwise than I have stated? |
