5/10 bottom two, anyone play it differently?
5/10 tight predictable raises 1 limper to 35, bad player calls, I call with 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], SB calls.
Flop 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Sb checks, raiser checks, bad player bets 65, I call 65, everyone folds Turn T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] He bets 85, I call. River 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (Pot $450ish) He checks, I bet 250. Bad player started this hand with $1700, I have $1k. This is probably the perfect spot for an overbet, huh? I can't see him calling it without the straight though, he probably mucks two pair/set if I do this though.... |

Is raising either the flop or turn not an option?

Re: 5/10 bottom two, anyone play it differently?
I thought about it, but if he has me beat and comes over the top I'll be hard pressed to call with my stack. I really want to see the river, so I opted to just call.

Why didnt you raise the turn? [/ QUOTE ]because he has flush draw and a full house draw and if the other guy has a straight/set he might go allin and AZK is gonna be frowny face ... id of played it the same if i hadnt tried to steal PF(prob wouldve)... maybe get a little greedier on the river, although youd have to imagine hed bet 78,66 on river, so i guess he has some stupid 77/88/67/whatever hand... so small bet looks fine. |

Re: 5/10 bottom two, anyone play it differently?
Normally if the villain had made a larger near pot size bet on the turn like he really had something then I would tend to overbet since it's harder for an opponent to put you on hitting a backdoor flush if he held the flopped straight or a set. But since he bet so small on the turn, he is marked with a more marginal holding unless his bet size on the turn was to induce a raise. Thus back to the tried and true rule of betting as much as you think he will call, which your bet of $250 seems to be.

i dont mind the value bet. your small 2pair has the flop hurt for sets, so value betting the flush might be a good idea
